University of Kelaniya is the one of the main government university in the Sri Lanka. In 1875 Sri Dharmaloka thero started the vidyalankara piriwena and after in 1978 it became University of Kelaniya.

"To become a centre of excellence in creation and dissemination of Knowldge for sustainable development."

"To nurture intellectual citizens through creativity and innovation, who contribute the national development."
Science Faculty
Faculty of science in the university of Kelaniya started in 1967. It provides education for many undergraduates. When we enter through the main enterence of the faculty we can see the science faculty building. We can see the main playground, ICT center and dharmaloka hall in the faculty of science area. Faculty of scince has 8 departments.
Administrative
Building:
This
is the heart of the university. All the university control by the
administrative building. Faculties maintaince, Staff & Students managing and other lot of services doing by
this. So that this is the control unit of our university.
Sri Dharmaloka Hall:
This is the
main auditorium of our university. It is situated in the faculty of
science.This hall is using for all the main meetings, Occasions, Films &
Dramas showing, etc.
Library:
The library of the is the main source of the Knowldge in the university. There are thousend of books in the library. As well as we can easily downlod the e books and past papers of university exams from the library website. Students can get lot of knowldge from the using library.
Medical Centre:
Medical Center of our university doing big role in the every week days. It is opens 8.00 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. Lot of students get service from the medical center everyday for physical illness. There are very kind staff and professional doctors. As well as it keeps the university environment and students health well.
